Introducing
Adjunct EMDR Therapy
-
Adjunct EMDR Therapy is a collaborative model where you, as the primary therapist, continue leading the therapeutic relationship while I provide short-term, targeted EMDR sessions. This allows your client to receive focused trauma work without disrupting the progress you’ve already established. Depending on the client’s needs, sessions can occur concurrently with your ongoing work, or your client may take a brief pause from regular therapy to engage in EMDR intensives.
-
With the client’s consent, we work together to develop a treatment plan that aligns with their goals and timing. I maintain communication with you regarding progress and recommendations, and once the adjunct EMDR phase is complete, your client seamlessly transitions back to you for ongoing care.
-
This approach creates a treatment team that combines our unique expertise. While my role is to address trauma through EMDR, you bring a deeper knowledge of your client’s broader concerns, whether that’s relational issues, eating disorders, OCD, or other clinical areas. Working collaboratively allows us to provide comprehensive, high-quality care while honoring the therapeutic bond you’ve built with your client.
-
You’ll work with me short-term to focus on specific goals through EMDR therapy. Once we complete our sessions, you’ll transition smoothly back to your primary therapist to continue your ongoing work. This brief pause often helps you return with greater insight, readiness, and emotional clarity to build on the progress you’ve made.
In our work together, we will…
-
Together, we’ll ensure your client receives the very best care through a blend of our specialties. By combining your ongoing therapeutic work with focused EMDR provided by me briefly, clients can move through barriers that may have previously stalled their progress. Looking ahead, this allows your clients to return to you with renewed clarity and momentum, deepening the effectiveness of the work you’re already doing.
-
Clear and consistent communication will keep us aligned and ensure your client feels fully supported throughout the process. I’ll provide updates on progress, always respecting your role as the primary therapist. This transparency builds trust between us as clinicians and allows your client to benefit from a seamless, unified approach.
-
We’ll work together to develop a treatment plan and schedule that best serves your client’s needs. Coordination reduces gaps in care and provides your client with a structured, focused path toward progress. Moving forward, this structured approach strengthens continuity of care and reinforces the trust your client already has in the therapeutic process.
