Adjunct EMDR Therapy in Corpus Christi and Across Texas
Marisol Garza, M.S., Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor
EMDR and IFS Therapist | Grief Specialist | Corpus Christi, Texas
Collaborative trauma care that strengthens client progress.
Adjunct EMDR Therapy is designed for therapists who recognize that EMDR or IFS may not be their focus but want their clients to benefit from targeted trauma work.
This collaborative approach allows you to remain the client’s primary therapist while I provide short-term, focused EMDR sessions to help move through blocks that may be slowing their progress.
Introducing Adjunct EMDR Therapy
-
Adjunct EMDR Therapy is a partnership between therapists. You continue leading the therapeutic relationship while I provide brief, goal-oriented EMDR treatment. This gives your client the opportunity to address specific trauma memories, triggers, or emotional stuck points without disrupting the foundation you’ve already built.
Depending on the client’s needs, adjunct EMDR can take place concurrently with ongoing therapy or during a short-term EMDR intensive before returning to your care.
-
With your client’s consent, we collaborate on a plan that aligns with their treatment goals and schedule. I maintain communication with you throughout the process, offering updates and recommendations. Once the adjunct EMDR phase is complete, your client transitions smoothly back to you for continued care.
This seamless collaboration ensures your client receives comprehensive, trauma-informed treatment that strengthens, not replaces, your ongoing work together.
-
Adjunct EMDR Therapy creates a treatment partnership that combines both of our expertise. While I focus on trauma or grief reprocessing through EMDR, you continue guiding the broader therapeutic work, whether it eating disorders, OCD, or other clinical areas.
Together, we create a team-based model of care that is:
Collaborative and respectful of your therapeutic relationship
Structured to reduce gaps in care
Designed to accelerate insight, clarity, and healing
-
If you love working with your therapist but are curious about EMDR, adjunct therapy may be the perfect fit. You’ll work with me for a brief, focused period to process specific goals through EMDR. Once complete, you’ll return to your primary therapist with new clarity, readiness, and momentum to continue your growth.
therapists, In our work together, we will…

-
Open communication ensures alignment throughout the process. I’ll provide updates while respecting your role as the primary therapist. Transparency builds trust and ensures the client feels supported by both clinicians.
